- Early dismissal 11/18 and the following week there will be no school to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Congratulations:  The librarians and three classroom teachers received national recognition as being a reading model classroom and a reading model library.  Hats off to Ms. Brackins, Ms. Mitchell, Ms. Willis, Ms. Fortenberry and Ms. Smith.


Our ProgramBaton Rouge Magnet High provides an award-winning college preparatory and visual and performing arts curriculum. The faculty and staff are committed to providing a learning climate to help students develop the skills and attitudes of successful citizens in a global environment.

The curriculum offers
» 19 Advanced Placement courses
» 22 Honors courses
» 2 Dual Enrollment Classes
» 5 foreign languages 


The school also maintains a strong curriculum in visual and performing arts, with special classes for those students identified as "talented." Male and female athletes compete in soccer, golf, gymnastics, cross country, track and field, tennis, volleyball, wrestling, swimming and bowling. The Bulldogs have a proud tradition of LHSAA playoff appearances and state championships in various sports.
