Hello. I'm Donna Parker. I'm the English Department chairperson and currently teach English III Advanced Placement, English II Honors, and English IV Dual Enrollment. I have taught for over 32 years, 25 of them in EBR parish, and 20 of them at BRMHS. I am still passionate about teaching and firmly believe that I can make a difference in the lives of many young people.
I am a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'Em, Horns!!), and I received my master's degree at Texas Tech University. I am also an adjunct in the English Department at Baton Rouge Community College, which led to my desire to see the English IV Dual Enrollment class created at BRMHS.
I am blessed to work with such a high caliber of young people, and my primary goal is to fully prepare all of them for college, wherever they may go. I know that parents appreciate the high standards that we uphold here at BRMHS, and I am proud of all the English teachers who labor above and beyond what is required in order to provide our students with the best education possible. It is a privilege to work with such professionals.
My personal and professional motto is "Not failure, but low aim, is crime." --James Russell Lowell
