As a young child in elementary, I was always "the teacher" in the neighborhood. Everyday of the week children of all ages could be found in my living room to receive assistance with homework. My desire to help others did not stop during my childhood education; I continued to tutor in high school and college. My interaction with teenagers during my summer job at LSYOU in college was the final impetus for me to gain my Bachelor's of Science degree in English education from Lousiana State University so that I could serve as a high school English educator.
I believe that education is the window to the world. Literature, especially, allows you to tap into the mind, culture, and business of those who are not like you. I also value the grammar and writing instruction. Both these are key to clear and effective communication
