Principal Nanette McCann has been selected as the East Baton Rouge "Principal of the Year." Ms. McCann was presented with an award at the school board meeting on January 19, 2012 and honored with a reception highlighting her achievements.

Baton Rouge Magnet High provides an award-winning college preparatory and visual and performing arts curriculum. The faculty and staff are committed to providing a learning climate to help students develop the skills and attitudes of successful citizens in a global environment.

The school also maintains a strong curriculum in visual and performing arts, with special classes for those students identified as "talented." Male and female athletes compete in soccer, golf, gymnastics, cross country, track and field, tennis, volleyball, wrestling, swimming and bowling. The Bulldogs have a proud tradition of LHSAA playoff appearances and state championships in various sports.
